Phénix // Canceled

November 13 @ 7:30 pm (19:30) - 8:30 pm (20:30)

Despite all the precautionary measures put in place by Voces Boreales during rehearsals, we have been informed of two positive COVID cases within the group. The health of singers, collaborators, volunteers and public is of utmost importance to us. We have taken the difficult but necessary decision to postpone the concert: the date will be communicated at a later time. In the meantime, our focus is on the health and wellbeing of those who have been exposed: protocols have been put in place and we are following things closely. We wish all our colleagues the patience and energy needed to let the virus pass, as we are all disappointed not to be with our loving public, but strong in our resolve to fight COVID.

We apologize to you for this situation that is beyond our control. You can ask for a ticket refund on your Eventbrite account. You may also choose to keep your tickets, which will be valid on the soon-to-be-determined Phenix date. For any questions related to the health of the singers or the status of your ticket, please email us at: alexia@vocesboreales.org.

We are a growing family of music-lovers and we are infinitely moved by the attention and words of encouragement you have given us. Let’s make the best of this situation, and keep a united front against COVID: follow us online on Facebook, Instagram and on our newsletter, and let us know how you are doing.

Thank you for your understanding, and we wish to see you all in good health soon.

Voces Boreales

7 Canadian composers revisit the myth of the Phenix, rising from its ashes.

Like this mythical creature, Voces Boreales arises from its pandemic ashes in a program showing off the best Canadian talent, both from composers and collaborating artists. The choir will present this concert with cellist Dominique Beauséjour-Ostiguy and Architek Percussion featuring works by composers Eatock, Giacomin, Beauséjour-Ostiguy, Weinberg, Ryan, Choinière, and Isaiah Ceccarelli, whose work is a commission and premiere performance at this concert.

Also on the program: Phénix, by Dominique Beauséjour-Ostiguy, and Tout est calme dans l’univers by Louis Desjarlais, both concert premieres.

Guests: Dominique Beauséjour-Ostiguy, cello
Architek Percussion
