For its first concert of the season, Voces Boreales has once again drawn on its musical and spiritual sources for inspiration. While last season’s Brevis Nox developed the theme of the summer solstice, Lux autumna now celebrates the autumn equinox. The programme is based on one of the ensemble’s traditional themes: the northern lights, or aurora borealis, from which the group derives its name. Come celebrate with us the release of the Missa Campanula CD and meet its artists! The very first CD recorded by Voces Boreales will be launched on November 10th 2015 after the Lux Autumna concert. Titled Missa Campanula, it contains two works composed by Karen Young: the mass itself and another one of her compositions titled Nunc Dimittis.   On March 12th, Voces Boreales will be joining forces with the St. Lawrence Choir for its Motets in Leipzig concert. The event is part of a new three-year project by the SLC to explore the motet in all its forms.
