Our Fundraising Campaign is Taking Off
Today, we officially launch our fundraising campaign to cover artistic costs of the 2024-2025 season.
If you have been following us, you know that Voces Boreales and its octet VB8 have been moving Montreal audiences with inspiring, beautiful, original choral repertoire for nearly 20 years. Founded by Michael Zaugg, now directed by Andrew Gray, Voces also supports today's creative minds by commissioning new works by Quebec and Canadian composers.
However, to continue on this musical journey,
we need your help.
Budget cuts are affecting Voces Boreales as well as the entire arts community. The funding from public sources has been severely limited in the past two years. To enable Voces Boreales to present planned concerts for the 2024-2025 season, the Board of Directors has set our fundraising goal at $60,000. To allow us to reach our goal, make a donation today. Whatever the amount, your contribution has a significant impact. It uplifts us and helps cover artists' fees, rehearsals, venue rentals, and concert promotion. Tax receipts will be issued for all donations over $20.

Why Donate?
Voces Boreales enriches Montreal's cultural environment
As the only professional choir in Montreal whose repertoire spans 400 years of music—from Bach to Pärt—Voces Boreales enriches the daily lives of Montrealers by offering profound musical experiences, whether through its stand-out concerts, its multisensory installation Camino, or audio recordings like its debut CD Winter Magic. Your donation helps maintain and expand these cultural offerings. More than 50% of Voces Boreales' annual budget goes directly to artists and cultural professionals, contributing to the sustainability of their careers and the development of Montreal's dynamic cultural ecosystem.
We support emerging composers
Each year, Voces Boreales supports the careers of dozens of emerging artists. The donations collected by the ensemble fund educational programs such as choral workshops, master classes in choral conducting, and composition workshops for young Canadian composers.
We strengthen community ties
Voces Boreales events bring together a large audience of all ages and backgrounds, fostering a sense of community and sharing. Through post-concert meet and greet between artists and the audience, choral singing workshops, and family concerts, they create opportunities for exchange.
