Synopsis
Celebrating the 10th anniversary of Voces Boreales’ founding and the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death
This coming season, we will be celebrating our ten years of music making and paying tribute to Michael Zaugg, our founding director from Switzerland, by continuing to explore the contemporary repertoire from Scandinavia, the Baltic States and North America, the mission he had entrusted us with. Since 2016 also marks the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death, most of the works that you will hear during this first concert of the season will be settings of texts from his plays and sonnets and of poems by writers on whom he had a profound impact. A delightful blend of the old and the new!
And the celebration will not stop there. After the concert, the audience will be invited to have a glass of wine with the choir!
