Rebecca Gray: big win at the SOCAN Canadian Young Composers Competition

Congratulations to Rebecca Gray for her work prize-winning work "Heaven was not Home", premiered by Voces Boreales! The First Prize in the "Choral" category at the SOCAN Foundation Competition was commissioned by the choir for the 50 Shades of Gray concert in October 2024.

The SOCAN Foundation Canadian Young Composer Competition is an annual contest designed to recognize Canadian composers aged 30 and under for their original concert music compositions in the following five categories: large orchestra, chamber orchestra, solo or duo, choral, and electroacoustic.

Voces Boreales is proud to support emerging composers through commissions and its annual composition workshop.
