Synopsis
What if peace were more than just a dream?
To mark its 20th anniversary, Voces Boreales invites you to an extraordinary evening—a musical journey celebrating peace and the enduring human pursuit of it. As the centerpiece, Friede auf Erden (Peace on Earth) by Arnold Schönberg, a profound and striking hymn, resonates as a meditation on our universal longing for harmony.
Sir John Tavener, with Mother and Child for choir, organ, and gong, brings a luminous, sensuous counterpoint, while works by composers from Górecki to Slava Morotow explore the delicate balance between the promise of a better world and the disillusionments of human life.
An evening to immerse yourself in the pursuit of meaning, love, and the transcendent beauty of music.
Henry Webb, organ
Winner of the second prize, the Audience Award, and the Raymond-Daveluy Prize at the Canadian International Organ Competition in October 2024, Henry Webb holds a master’s degree in harpsichord from McGill University, where he studied organ with Isabelle Demers and harpsichord with Elizaveta Miller. A graduate of the Eastman School of Music under David Higgs, he also studied at the Conservatoire de Strasbourg with Johann Vexo and Benjamin-Joseph Steens. His former teachers also include Christina Harmon, Scott Dettra, and Nathan Laube.
In 2025, he was named among Diapason magazine’s “20 under 30,” which highlights the most promising young musicians.
