Description

After a pause of a few years, we are thrilled to welcome you to our 2023 Choral Workshop!

The Montreal Choral Institute (MCI) is delighted to welcome Andrew McAnerney, Artistic Director of Le Studio de musique ancienne de Montréal (SMAM) and a specialist in early music and choral music, to lead a choral workshop.

This choral workshop will examine the music of William Byrd and his contemporaries, with specific reference to his role in the development of sacred choral music in Protestant and Catholic rites. The workshop is aimed at professional singers, amateur choristers, and any musician wishing to learn from the expertise of this leading musician.

For the occasion, the ICM would like to bring together as many singers/musicians as possible from all backgrounds to form a large choir to work on a few works under his direction and benefit from his experience.
